The Orgo System digester not only provides these benefits but also does so in a manner more productive than other digesters on the market, such as the popular plug-flow system. The digester demonstrates its improved productivity due to several unique design features that allow improved gas production, greater solids reduction, and less daily maintenance.

• A two-chamber design increases digestion efficiency by separating the liquefaction and gasification of the waste, promoting optimal bacteria environments. All other competitors offer single-chamber digesters, which can become unstable when these two processes interact.
• The digestion period of 30 days is longer than typical digesters, allowing for a more thorough digestion of manure. The only other type of digester to use a longer digestion period is the covered lagoon design, which is only suitable for climates that are warm year-round and for wastes that contain less than 2% solids.
• Wastes are inputted into the bottom of the unit, which agitates the waste and prevents a build-up of solids, eliminating the cost and time associated with mechanical mixers. One major concern associated with the plug-flow digester design is that it often suffers from the crusting of solids when solid concentrations fall below the design parameters.
• The dome design maintains a constant gas pressure without using pumps or counterweights, which increase costs and maintenance.
• The digester has the flexibility to process a variety of agricultural wastes. Many digester designs are only suited to work with one type of manure, such as the plug flow design that only focuses on dairy manure.
• The digester's steel dome structure is guaranteed by a five-year service warranty

It is these competitive advantages that will lead to a much higher success rate for Orgo Systems' digesters than that of other anaerobic digesters. According to a study performed by Philip Lusk of the International Energy Agency, the failure rates of other anaerobic digesters, including complete-mix and plug-flow farm-based digesters, were 70% and 63% as of 1998.

The Orgo Systems digester produced very important results in a study conducted by Bloomsburg University between July and October 2000. In analyzing eleven samples of both digested and raw hog manure, researchers concluded that the Orgo Systems digester significantly reduced the odor intensity of raw manure. These results are notable because of the increased desire and need for farmers to control the unpleasant odor of raw manure.
