Orgo Systems, Inc. and Anaerobic Digestion

Orgo Systems, Inc., formerly Bio-Waste Management International Inc., has been serving the agricultural community since 1998. The company's mission is to market and install "Improved Anaerobic Digesters" to help farmers handle the volumes of waste generated from livestock production. The Orgo Systems' uniquely designed digester helps farmers address the concerns surrounding manure management in an efficient, effective and profitable way by transforming agricultural wastes into valuable end products.

On September 24, 2002, Orgo Systems, Inc. was presented with the "Pennsylvania Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence" for the benefits realized by the Orgo Systems digestor. You can see information about the Governor's Award on the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection web site. A detailed report of the award given to Orgo Systems can be seen GreenWorks web site.

An Orgo Systems digester provides numerous benefits associated with anaerobic digestion. These benefits include:

For more details on these benefits, see our Benefits of Digestion page.

The Orgo System digester not only provides these benefits but also does so in a manner more productive than other digesters on the market, such as the popular plug-flow system. The digester demonstrates its improved productivity due to several unique design features that allow improved gas production, greater solids reduction, and less daily maintenance.

It is these competitive advantages that will lead to a much higher success rate for Orgo Systems' digesters than that of other anaerobic digesters. According to a study performed by Philip Lusk of the International Energy Agency, the failure rates of other anaerobic digesters, including complete-mix and plug-flow farm-based digesters, were 70% and 63% as of 1998.

The Orgo Systems digester produced very important results in a study conducted by Bloomsburg University between July and October 2000. In analyzing eleven samples of both digested and raw hog manure, researchers concluded that the Orgo Systems digester significantly reduced the odor intensity of raw manure. These results are notable because of the increased desire and need for farmers to control the unpleasant odor of raw manure.

The benefits, improved design and quality service associated with the Orgo Systems digester will help propel your farm into the future of manure management.
